Which languages does Enshrouded support, and is Czech one of them?

The Steam store lists 15 languages for Enshrouded 1.0, and Czech (čeština) is not one of them. Version 1.0 lets you choose text and voice-over language separately. Lore notes and important characters are voiced in English, German and Chinese, with more voice languages planned later.

Languages listed on Steam

The Steam page for Enshrouded lists 15 supported languages on October 16, 2026. They cover most large European and Asian markets, including Polish, Ukrainian and Thai. Czech, Slovak and Hungarian are not in the list.

Western EuropeEnglish, French, Italian, German, Spanish (Spain)
Central and Eastern EuropePolish, Russian, Ukrainian, Turkish
AmericasPortuguese (Brazil)

The store table is the most reliable place to check before buying. Language lists can grow with later patches, so look again if you read this page months after launch. The Steam table shows availability per language, not the quality of each translation.

Czech (čeština) status at launch

Czech is not an official language of Enshrouded 1.0 on Steam. We also found no verified community translation project for the full release. Searches for an Enshrouded čeština patch spiked after launch, which shows strong demand rather than an available file.

Be careful with downloads that claim to add Czech text. Unofficial files change game data, and the 1.0 update may break tools built for Early Access. Read the mods guide and back up your saves before installing anything that is not on Steam.

If you want to start now, choose another listed language such as English, German or Polish. Pick the language you read most comfortably, because quest text and crafting menus carry a lot of detail. You can switch later in the game settings without starting a new world.

Voice-over and the German narrator

Version 1.0 adds narration for lore notes, letters and other texts. Important crafting survivors and quest givers are also voiced. At launch this voice work exists in English, German and Chinese, and Keen plans more languages later.

The German lore narration is performed by Dietmar Wunder, the long-time German voice of Daniel Craig. That explains the sudden German interest in his name after launch. Players who like the German narration can keep German voices while reading text in another language.

Text language and voice-over language are now separate settings. You can, for example, read English text and hear German or Chinese narration. This split is new in 1.0, so older guides that describe a single language option are out of date.

Where to change the language

Change the text language and the voice-over language in the game settings. The Steam client language does not have to match the in-game choice. If menus still appear in the wrong language after a change, restart the game once.

  1. Open the game settings from the main menu.
  2. Choose the text language you read most comfortably.
  3. Choose a voice-over language: English, German or Chinese at launch.
  4. Restart the game if any menus keep the old language.

New players can continue with the 1.0 beginner guide once the language is set. The 1.0 patch notes summarise the other launch changes. If text overlaps or the game crashes after switching, the crash guide lists the basic checks.
