What are the best base locations for different stages of Enshrouded?

Choose the best Enshrouded base location for its job rather than following a universal ranking. Springlands suits a starting workshop, Harvest Homestead is a researched restoration and farming example, and elevated sites can serve travel outposts. Inspect usable space, resource access and current claim restrictions before committing.

A location is best for a particular job

Choose a main workshop, farm, restoration project or travel outpost before choosing the site. These uses favor different combinations of space, resource access and travel convenience. A scenic location is not automatically the most practical gathering or crafting base.

Community rankings differ because their authors prioritize different kinds of play. Treat scenic judgments and favorite locations as preferences rather than objective progression requirements. Compare each recommendation against the task you actually want the base to perform.

Springlands and restoration projects

A starting Springlands workshop benefits from nearby resources and space for safe expansion. The research advises beginning there rather than rushing directly into a dangerous region for a supposedly perfect site. A functional early home gives you a base from which to evaluate later options.

Harvest Homestead is a named example for a farm and settlement restoration project. Check the current map and claim restrictions before committing to it or another ruin. The recommendation does not establish that every point of interest can be claimed.

  1. Decide whether this is a main workshop, farm, restoration project or travel outpost.
  2. Inspect usable space, vertical terrain and approaches before committing.
  3. Check resource access and proximity to useful travel points.
  4. Start with the Springlands rather than rushing into dangerous regions.
  5. For Harvest Homestead or other ruins, check the current map and claim restrictions first.

Inspect usable space and travel access

Look at usable ground, vertical terrain and the approaches before placing the base. Consider resource access and the distance to useful travel points. Elevated locations can serve as travel outposts, but that role is different from a large main workshop.

The Flame Altar’s build area should inform the planned footprint. Begin with a small functional area so you can assess access before expanding. Use the base design guide to connect that site decision to workshops, storage and accommodation.

Evaluate inspiration in the current world

Older building videos can predate terrain changes. Use a current map and the visible world to check access rather than relying on an old screenshot alone. The text diagram compares purposes without promising a claimable site or a measured fastest route.

Adventure Sharing can help you inspect community ideas. It does not make a creator’s scenery preferences or infinite-resource claims a verified rule for your own world. If you want interactive mechanisms later, keep the Sparkworks preview separate from the present site-selection decision.
