Connected paths rather than a permanent class
Enshrouded uses connected skill paths rather than locking a character permanently to one class. You can combine combat, support and exploration skills when the required connections and point costs are satisfied. A class-themed area of the tree is not an exclusive character identity.
Start with a primary combat direction and then consider useful supporting nodes. Trace the connections to a desired node rather than assuming every visible skill can be selected immediately. The build guide explains how those decisions connect to weapon range and resources.
Leveling and exploration rewards
Skill points come from leveling and exploration objectives. The reviewed references identify Shroud Roots and Elixir Wells among the reward sources. These rewards mean that character level alone does not describe every part of skill-point progression.
Keep objective completion separate from ordinary experience gain. The Albaneve root checklist can support one regional task without becoming a total for every exploration reward. The level-cap guide distinguishes character level, gear and total points.
- Choose a primary combat direction and then add useful support nodes.
- Trace required connections rather than assuming every visible skill is immediately selectable.
- Earn points through leveling and exploration objectives.
- Use the Flame Altar's reset option when reorganizing a build.
- After 1.0 conversion, inspect and spend returned points before fighting.
Reorganizing at the Flame Altar
Use the Flame Altar’s reset option when reorganizing a build. Reconsider the route through connected nodes rather than simply adding disconnected skills to a wish list. Check the point requirements visible in the current tree before spending.
The research does not establish a universal reset cost or a final full-release path allocation. Old diagrams and databases can lag behind a rework. Use the current in-game tree when deciding how to distribute available points.
Update 8 and the announced reset
Update 8 substantially reworked the skill tree. Keen’s full-release combat preview announces another skill reset for returning characters. Inspect and spend refunded points before leaving the base to fight.
The research sources disagree on node totals, so no complete count is retained. An Update 8 build video is an example of that version rather than an official planner for the full release. Read the save compatibility guide alongside this reset information when importing an existing character.
