Where Flax grows in Revelwood
Flax is a Revelwood plant, so you will not find it in the Springlands. Look for blue flowers poking out of the grass in meadows and on hilltops. Most spawns hold two or three plants, so routes that chain several spots work best.
- The stony bluff northwest of the Revelwood tower, north of Diadwyn: about 5 nodes in a small area.
- Diadwyn's farmbeds next to that bluff: at least 3 more nodes.
- Lush Pasture, a glide southeast from the Revelwood tower: clumps on the northwest side and about 5 nodes on the outskirts.
- Around Glennswood in northwest Revelwood: a few nodes to the southwest and three in a row to the east.
- The southern area near the Ancient Obelisk in southwest Revelwood.
Turn Flax into Linen
Flax is mostly a step toward Linen. The Hunter's Hand Spindle turns 2 Flax into 1 Linen, so rescue the Hunter and follow her quests to unlock it. Later, the Spinning Wheel from the Carpenter does the same job faster.
Linen feeds padding, armor, backpacks and base items such as wells. The Medium Backpack alone needs 6 Linen, which is 12 Flax. See the backpacks guide and the water guide for what to build first.
Farm Flax at your base
Picking wild Flax gets slow once you need dozens of Linen. Guides list a seed recipe of Flax plus Water that makes 10 Flax seeds. Plant them in Seedbeds or Farmbeds and they grow in roughly 15 to 30 minutes of play.
Farming needs the Farmer at your base, and some guides note the Alchemist's grinding stone too. Set up a few beds next to your base and harvest on your way out. One row of beds usually covers a full armor set's worth of Linen.
