Tin Ore locations
- Cave north of the Nomad Highlands Ancient Spire: a cluster behind the Shroud Root, the easiest first visit.
- Mining Rift west of that northern cave: more Tin plus some Copper.
- West of Umber Hollow: a small hole in the ground leads to a quiet cave where you can mine in peace.
Guides disagree on how busy the Mining Rift is, so bring food and a backup weapon. The Shroud Root cave pairs well with the Nomad Highlands Hollow Halls trip. Use the map guide to plan a loop through all three.
Tin Bar and Bronze Bar recipes
| Bar | Station | Input | Output |
|---|---|---|---|
| Tin Bar | Smelter | 15 Tin Ore, 5 Charcoal, 2 Wood Acid | 3 |
| Tin Bar | Blast Furnace | 20 Tin Ore, 6 Coal, 4 Wood Acid | 6 |
| Bronze Bar | Smelter | 3 Tin Bars, 7 Copper Bars, 10 Charcoal | 10 |
| Bronze Bar | Blast Furnace | 4 Tin Bars, 10 Copper Bars, 10 Coal | 20 |
The Blast Furnace doubles your Tin Bars per batch, so unlock it before a big Bronze run. It runs on Coal instead of Charcoal. Check the station screen in game, since recipes can change between patches.
Other things that use Tin
- Flame Altar: 20 Tin Ore is part of the offering that raises the Flame from level 4 to 5.
- Water Dispenser at the Workbench: 3 Tin Bars and 1 Metal Scraps.
- Eternal Chain Heal at the Alchemy Station: 10 Tin Bars plus other materials.
- Coloring Station palettes such as Mossy Stone, each using 2 Tin Ore.
Keep raw Tin Ore aside for the Flame upgrade before you smelt it all. Ore inside a Flame Altar's build area does not come back, so mine wild caves instead. See the resources guide for the other metals.
